CONSIDERING BAND/ORCHESTRA:

I look forward to meeting and working with your children over the next few weeks. There are many promising future musicians at our Highland schools. Below you will find some important documents that will help you and your child as you consider the orchestra program.

All band and orchestra students will be required to use the SmartMusic software - click here for information

If you have trouble opening any of these documents, please email me, ploos@highland.k12.in.us, and I can send them to you as attachments.

ORCHESTRA REGISTRATION NIGHT (March 14th or 22nd)

If you requested an appointment time, it has been sent to you in an email. Appointments will take place in High School Room 514 (the choir room). If you are unable to keep your appointment or do not have an appointment, please join us any time, 4:00-7:00.

Your child will choose an instrument (violin, viola, cello, bass) and get sized for the correct fitting.
You can meet with representatives from Quinlan and Fabish Music Company regarding their rental instruments. Rental prices vary--please see the website for details.
You can register your child for the summer orchestra camp, August 6-10 (Monday through Friday). The $100 registration fee includes summer camp and the first semester “Fair Share Fee.”
Parents from the Highland Orchestra Boosters will be on hand to answer questions about how you can choose to get involved.
You will get to meet with me and I can answer any specific questions that haven’t been answered for you.
